OXNARD - January 23, 2011 — Tequila
Alquimia proudly announces that the long-awaited Alquimia Reserva de Don Adolfo
Extra-Añejo is now available. Made
from 8-year old organic agave, and aged for 6 years in oak barrels, the very
limited Lot 1 is finally here. The
Extra-Añejo has already earned a gold medal from the recent Chicago Beverage
Testing Institute’s International Review of Spirits (BIT), where it was the top
rated Extra-Añejo, classified as “Exceptional,” and described as “a cognac-like
tequila.”
In just
three short years, Tequila Alquimia has won a total of 12 gold medals at the
two most prestigious spirits competitions in the world: the BIT Review in
Chicago and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Dr. Adolfo Murillo,
founder and President of Tequila Alquimia, says, “We are very proud of all four
of our expressions, the Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and now our Extra-Añejo. They are all of excellent quality, and
have built up a very good following.
Until now, our Añejo has been our flagship product. We now introduce our Extra-Añejo, the
new crown jewel!”
A very
elegant presentation, the Extra-Añejo bottle’s black labels highlight the
antique gold lettering. The
bottles are made of recycled glass by a family of glass blowers in Tonalá,
Jalisco. The first (Lot 1) release
is available in a black box with a clear front, made from reclaimed wood
products. The tequila itself has a
very inviting dark golden color.
The aroma is very pleasant, without an aggressive presence of
alcohol. The unanimous praise at a
recent private tasting can attest to the quality and taste of the tequila:
“Exquisite,” “Incredible,” and “Phenomenal.”
